Homefires often acts as a full service fireplace company. Inspections are often a starting point for a greater whole of a project. This service is specifically meant to make doing business easier, meaning you have all of your fireplace work done under one roof. This ensures a project does not have conflicts, for example: installation of a log set without a chimney cap.
We have specialty camera equipment for seeing inside the flue pipe and will give you an unbiased opinion on the condition of your fireplace. We are also able to address more complex issues such as poor venting, reverse draw, improper firebox/flue sizing.

Homefires will deliver and install product throughout the East Coast. We are willing to travel further for a project if required. However, we do not install product not sold by our company.

That's because we do everything from new fireboxes with custom fireplace surrounds using CAD software to replacement gas inserts, fire screens and accessories. Homefires can sweep if absolutely necessary, but does not offer individual sweep services. We are not structured in this manner.
While Homefires can help you specify and design a product layout. And even do installations of such product including venting. We do not install new gas lines, that is left to a licensed pipefitter. Of whom we know many and can refer you to.
There are many different potential causes for improper draft. The best way is to schedule an on-site visit. Once your fireplace(s) are inspected we can develop a plan of action to fix the issue for good. Or find an alternative solution if a full-fix is cost prohibitive.
Custom vented gas fires are a common part of our business. Whether fitted for an original cast iron arch surround insert (used in old coalburning fireplaces). Or fitted for an antique freestanding coal grate, or even a new replica firegrate. Production of burners is a core part of our business. In certain cases, dimensions allow for use of a vent free system.
