The Large French firebasket has always been one of our most popular models. The design is timeless, the construction is made from all castings so it has lots of character. The grate does have a ceramic firebrick.

NOTE: Originally, a
ceramic firebrick was a detail only included in the finest fire grates. It’s
purpose is to help with heating and also to prevent the coal from
warping/deforming the iron back
of the unit.

The unit can be ordered without the brass ormolu if you are looking for something a bit simpler.
