The Cameo firebasket is predominately made from castings. By dimension it is relatively small but it is quite heavy in stature so can be used in medium sized fireplaces. This grate has a ceramic firebrick. This grate can be done with or without the brass applique on the sides. This grate is also available in an all steel version as shown in the photos.

Note: Originally, a
ceramic firebrick was a detail only included in the finest fire grates. It’s
purpose is to help with heating and also to prevent the coal from
warping/deforming the iron back
of the unit. This is because coal is one of the only solid fuels able to
physically melt steel.
